PA QSO Party log checker

Drop your ADIF or Cabrillo log. It fixes county and section abbreviations you approve, flags dupes and rule problems, and shows your score and the counties you still need. File checks run in your browser, and the log you drop or paste isn’t uploaded. The optional live pairing is different: it sends your QSOs through our relay (see Real time below).

1. Your log

Drop an ADIF or Cabrillo file here

Ham2K Power Logger or classic Ham2K Portable Logger (Ham2K shortens both to PoLo): export the PA QSO Party ADIF or Cabrillo, then drop it here. N1MM Logger+, N3FJP’s Pennsylvania QSO Party Log (In State or Out of State) and other loggers work too.

Paste a log instead

Try example data:

Once a log is loaded, new files, pastes, watched-file updates and PoLo links merge into it: matching contacts are updated, new ones are added, and your fix choices stay.

Live mode

Point the page at a log file your logger keeps saving and it re-reads it on a timer, so the stats stay current while you operate. Your fix choices carry over.

Live from Ham2K PoLo

Here PoLo means Ham2K Power Logger running the PAQP Live add-on. The classic Ham2K Portable Logger can’t run add-ons; export a file from it instead.

With the PAQP Live add-on (test build) in Ham2K Logger, tap Send full log in its PAQP Live panel and your contacts appear here. A big log comes in parts: tap each part once, in any order, and the checker switches over when it has them all. Your contacts travel inside the link, straight to your own browser, and never pass through this site’s server. If a checker tab is already open, it updates too. Get the PAQP Live add-on (download, setup, privacy).

Real time: tap Pair for real time to get a code. In Ham2K Logger, set PAQP Live to Real time and type the code into its settings. New, edited and deleted contacts then show up here within seconds. This page remembers the code, so a reload or a dropped connection rejoins the same pairing and gets your full log back at once. In Real time mode the add-on sends your QSOs to our relay on getontheair.app, which keeps them on disk for up to 7 days after the last update so a reload or reconnect gets them back, then deletes them. What’s sent: your PA QSO Party contacts’ time (to the minute), callsign, band, mode, frequency, sent serial and county, and received serial and county/section, plus your own station call, your sent county and a short random id for the operation. Forget this pairing clears the pairing in this browser and disconnects; it doesn’t delete the relay’s copy, which expires on its own. Forget contacts received from PoLo clears the contacts this browser saved.

Paste from Ham2K (if links don’t open)

In Ham2K Logger, type PAQPCOPY in the call field and press space, select all the text it shows, copy it, and paste it here. Or export ADIF from Ham2K and drop the file above.

What it checks
  1. Where it reads the exchange. SRX_STRING / STX_STRING first (serial plus location, the way Ham2K PoLo writes it, with SRX/STX for the serials), then CNTY, ARRL_SECT, STATE or VE_PROV. Cabrillo lines are read with or without RST columns.
  2. Counties. The 67 official abbreviations (for example BUX, DCO, INN, MGY, MTR, NHA, NUM). Full names, common short forms (PHILA, DELCO, WSTM, MONTG), case and one-letter slips are mapped. Ambiguous ones such as MONT, MON, NOR, CAM, DEL and IND are flagged for you to choose.
  3. Sections. The 71 ARRL and 14 RAC sections from the sponsor’s list. MD and DC map to MDC, HI to PAC, NFLD to NL, PQ to QC, NWT or YT to TER. States and provinces with several sections (NY, NJ, CA, TX, FL, MA, WA, ON, and the old MAR) are flagged, because the rules want the section. “PA” or “PENN” is never valid: PA stations send a county.
  4. Rules. Contest periods, WARC/60 m, digital modes, missing serials or locations, dupes per band and mode (all phone modes count as one), and county-line contacts like CAR/LEH counted once per county. Out-of-state entrants get no credit for non-PA stations, and those are marked rather than counted as errors.
  5. Score. (CW×2 + phone×1, doubled for QRP) × multipliers + 200 per K3ZMC QSO + 500 per mobile/rover county with 10 or more QSOs. In PA, EPA and WPA are added from the counties you work, the way the sponsor’s rescore does. The bonus is counted once per band and mode, added after the multiplier. The rules don’t spell out that detail, so treat it as an estimate.
  6. Privacy. File checks run in this browser; a log you drop or paste isn’t uploaded. Fix choices, header fields and contacts received from the add-on are kept in this browser’s local storage. Only the optional Real time pairing sends QSOs to our relay, which keeps them for up to 7 days after the last update. Forget this pairing clears the browser side.
Using it with Ham2K PoLo (Power Logger or Portable Logger)

PoLo has a PA QSO Party activity. Its ADIF export writes CONTEST_ID = PA-QSO-PARTY, STX_STRING and SRX_STRING as “serial location”, and STX/SRX. Its Cabrillo export uses the same contest name. Both read straight into this checker.

PoLo already keeps a running score on screen. We found no network broadcast (UDP), local web feed or public sync API that a web page could read live. For live stats here, use Watch a log file with any logger that keeps saving an ADIF file. Otherwise export again from PoLo and drop the new file; your fix choices are kept.
